OUR JOB: A Metal 3D printer with a build volume of 750*500*450 mm and 3d printing of Copper,Aluminium and Stainless Steel.

TIMELINE: 8 months

Summary

We designed and developed a welding based Metal 3D printing technology, called Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing(a Direct Energy Deposition process) which is a near net shape process.

Having developed the Metal AM technology within a span of 4 months, we performed experiments with the research team of Metallurgy department to 3d print copper, aluminum and stainless steel alloys. 

We designed various shapes and experimented them using Design of Experiments approach.

Product Features

With this technology, nearly complex aerospace parts can be manufactured in shorter lead times and with much greater material savings than the traditional route.
